Anoushka Shankar is a sitarist and composer of world music. She is the daughter of Late Pt Ravi Shankar and the half sister of singer Norah Jones.
Both Shankar and her half sister Jones were nominated for Grammy awards in 2003.
She has been the youngest-ever and first woman nominee in the World Music category for Live at Carnegie Hall.
She has also tried her hand at acting (Dance Like a Man) and writing (Bapi: The Love of My Life, biography on Ravi Shankar).
